From the Friends of the Snetsinger Butterfly Garden:

Does winter have you looking forward to bountiful blooms and gorgeous greenery? Get inspired and learn how to grow your greatest garden yet! The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Centre County are excited to announce the 2016 Home Gardening School. This one-day event will arm you with all you need to get your garden into shape.

The classes that are featured will interest gardeners of all levels. From Incredible Edibles to Creating Neighborly Natural Landscapes, there will be something to interest all gardeners.   Master Gardeners from the Snetsinger Butterfly Garden will provide presentations on the following nature friendly topics.

The Layered Landscape

Filling in the gaps in your pollinator friendly landscape

Trees and shrubs are an important part of providing food and shelter for birds, butterflies, and other beneficial wildlife. In this presentation we’ll cover the best perennials, small trees and shrubs for providing wildlife benefit while fitting into the home landscape.

Lawn is one of the most resource intensive crops we grow contributing significantly to climate change and environmental pollution. Learn about attractive, environmentally friendly solutions for reducing your overall lawn footprint.
