A workshop on Sheet Mulching and Permaculture, and a permablitz to benefit the new Mazza Community Garden will be held on Friday, September 18th from 10 am – 4 pm. The location of the new garden and the event is 418 S. Atherton St, State College, PA. There is limited parking on site, but nearby street parking.
At the event, you’ll learn how to create no till, fertile garden areas ready for planting next spring from mown weedy areas prepped this Fall. You’ll also learn about permaculture and participate in making sheet composting to create rich soil for spring planting.
In addition, Jackie Bonomo of Healing Ground Permaculture and the MorningStar Permaculture Learning Centre will provide an introduction to permaculture and present the permaculture design for the Mazza Community Garden.
A representative of Spring Creek Homesteading Fund will explain The Mazza Community Garden plot rental and management procedure will be explained by Spring Creek Homesteading over a delicious lunch provided by TapRoot Kitchen!
Helpful details: Please, do not bring your dog or other animals; there are chickens on site. Please do bring water bottles and work gloves, and wear work boots or sturdy shoes.
