Milk Jug Greenhouse Workshop

On February 7th from 10 – 11 am, Master Gardener Justin Wheeler will teach a workshop on building and using milk jug greenhouses.

Start your summer garden in January with the winter sow method! This unique way of starting plants mimics the natural freeze/thaw cycles many seeds require to break down their seed coat and begin germination. For many annuals, perennials, and vegetables this is a great method for producing hearty plants with low maintenance to help you get a jump on your garden, plus it’s a great way to beat the winter blues!

Participants should bring a one-gallon plastic milk jug to make their own greenhouse.  We’ll provide some soil and seeds, and you can head home with some more knowledge and your garden already started.

The workshop will be held at 156 West Hamilton Ave, State College, PA. For more information or to register, email or phone Josh Lambert at (814)237-0996.
