Summer Fun at Greenmoore Gardens Kicks Off Saturday

From Mark Maloney of Greenmoore Gardens CSA Farm:

We would like to extend a personal invitation to our first big Kick Off Farm Event! This open house event is scheduled for this coming Saturday, June 23 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and is FREE and open to ANYONE!

We encourage you to come out and meet the farm team, sip a cold drink, and find out firsthand how we plant, care for, and harvest the veggies that our CSA members receive in their vegetable shares.

Greenmoore Gardens is located just 10-15 minutes from the Penn State campus, and you can find directions here.

Information tables will be set up with brochures, displays, farm maps, and farm tour sign up sheets. We will be doing general farm tours at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and showcasing our new Herb Garden , and our new Community Supported Kitchen (CSK).

[The herb garden was designed and planted by Stephanie Hertel, instructor for the herbal balms, salves and tintures workshops and the upcoming Beginner Wild Edible Plant Identification workshop on July 15 at Greenmoore Gardens.]

Bring along the kids and participate in farm craft time! There will be LOTS of yummy food from the new CSK, arts and crafts for the kids, herb garden tours with fresh herbal iced-teas, and maybe even a kids movie!

Can’t make the first event? Check our website’s event schedule to discover what else we have planned for your summer 2012 growing season! We hope to see you out at the farm this Saturday!
