LaCreta Holland kicked off the Winter 2012 Reskilling Workshop series with a high-energy class about Cooking Winter Soups and Stews on Saturday morning.

What did they make?
- Creamy Parsnip Soup
- Sausage, Lentil, and Kale (we used Spinach) Soup
- Butternut Squash and Corn Chowder
- Pasta Fagioli Soup
- Classic Beef Stew
- Potato and Carrot Soup with Cheddar Cheese
After the soups cooked, everyone sampled them. Maybe it’s a little odd to eat soup at 11 a.m., but very tasty!
In the afternoon, Cindy Grosso guided people through Making Mittens & Scarves from Old Wool Sweaters, providing pattern & pin kits with instructions; decorative buttons from an heirloom button box; moral support and chocolate for frustration mitigation.
