Local Apples for Canning, Drying, Baking…

News from Way Fruit Farm in Port Matilda:

Our fall apple “Bin Sale” has begun. If you’ve never joined us for this before, let us explain. This is the time of year that apples are in abundance, so you can come to our farm store, choose a bag size to fill(pricing is based on volume; not per pound) and then mix and match what we have available in the big, wooden bins along the side wall of our store. Right now, you can choose from Gala, McIntosh and Honey Crisp in the bins. Yes, we said Honey Crisp, which is very rare and will only continue while limited supplies last. We will continue to add and switch varieties into the bins as they are picked, so keep an eye out for your favorites.

If you’re not interested in picking out your own apples, we do have each apple variety presorted and presented in varying basket sizes for you too choose from. Right now you may choose: Honey Crisp, Gala, Ozark Gold and McIntosh. Cortland will be coming soon; check in next week to enjoy the first of the season.

Apple cider, Bartlett pears, squash, fall decorations such as locally grown mums and gourds are in abundance right now too. We hope you’ll come out and enjoy some soon!
