News from Way Fruit Farm

From Way Fruit Farm in Port Matilda:

Red Haven peaches are now in! This variety is the first of our “freestone” peaches. They are yellow, sweet & delicious, but the great part is that when they are fully ripe, they come off their pit very easily when sliced. This is important if you are hoping to do lots of baking, preserves or canning. If not, come on out and enjoy some for fresh-eating today too!

We have lots of other sweet, summer fruits picked fresh from our farm daily! Remember, we never sell you a fruit we don’t grow (with the exception of melons), so you can be assured of good quality and freshness every time you buy from our farm! Little plums, and nectarines are abundant right now. We also have cantaloupe, watermelon, sweet corn, and more! Local vegetables include: green, red, banana, & jalapeno peppers, green beans, onions, cabbage, cucumbers, zucchini, spaghetti squash, tomatoes and more! We work with a few local farmers to get the best & freshest produce weekly. So, even if we don’t grow it, you know it’s good & good for you if you buy it from our farm!

Having an end-of-summer picnic? Getting the family together for a reunion? Need a night off from cooking? Remember that we have “Grab-n-Go” dinner options available in our cooler case everyday. In addition, our deli can help you out with a deli tray of meats & cheeses sure to please any group; big or small.

Don’t forget dessert! Our Way Cafe & Bakery is always mixing up tempting goodies for you. You can eat in with a scoop of Galliker’s hand-dipped ice cream or take something home to share. We now have some yummy seasonal flavors of pie including Peach Crumble & Peach Melba. Call ahead and order if you know exactly what you want. Otherwise, stop in anytime and see what’s baking! We hope to serve you soon!
