VeggieCommons Spring Creek Homesteading Fund – People Directory:
- The Homesteading Fund page is now public (not password-protected). It has information about the ongoing development of the local food sovereignty project, including archived posts, email updates, slide show links and more.
- At the bottom of that page, there’s a placeholder for a “People Directory.” This is an opt-in directory, to provide a public listing of people involved in sustainability work, the skills and knowledge they’d like to share, and their email contact information. If you’d like to be added, please let me know.
Potential Local Food Models:
Charlie Kain, on the idea of an indoor, downtown State College local foods/farmers market:
The first thought that popped into my head upon seeing that beautiful drawing was Portland, Oregon. There’s a wonderful market in one of the neighborhoods called the People’s Co-op. I think this would be an excellent model for an indoor farmer’s market. The difference with ours could be that we carry ONLY local foods and food products. Check it out!
