…The project included restoring about 350 feet of Sixmile Run, installing what’s known as a riparian buffer, that has been planted with native shrubs, and creating a public access area… trout were found in the water days after it was taken out in summer 2010.

The shrubs — including silky dogwood, elderberry and willow — come from ClearWater’s growing native program…

Fish and Boat Commission Executive Director John Arway said the project “is really all about the fish and the habitat that’s required to support our native fish.”
