Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center writes:
Thank you to all of you who made it out to the Native Plant Sale on May 7! We had a very successful day partnering with the PA Native Plant Society, with nearly 1,000 people in attendance and a portion of all plant vendor sales going to support the Creek.
Our annual 24-hour Birding Cup fundraiser on the same weekend was another great success with a near-record 182 species of birds seen by all teams, and already close to $10,000 raised. Our staff teams the Kingpishers, Red-rumped Irruptives and Bad Optics won the Potter Mug, Birding Boot and Birding Cup categories, respectively. Three-time previous Birding Cup winning team the Wingnuts won this year’s County Cup. Visit our website soon to read more about how these and other Birding Cup teams fared.
If you haven’t heard already, we offer a free “Meet the Creek” public program from 1–3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday from April–November. These programs are usually presentations with our Birds of Prey, including this Saturday, but this Sunday we have a new and different Meet the Creek offering that we hope you can make it out for:
