News from Way Fruit Farm in Port Matilda:
We would like to start by taking a minute to say Thank You to all of you loyal customers who have supported us this year! It is because of people like you, who come out in all kinds of crazy PA weather, that local, family farms like us are able to make a living. We thank you for your continued support and look forward to serving you, your family and friends this year!
Back by popular demand, our Apple Tree trimming Demonstration will be Saturday, March 26th starting at 10:30am. This workshop is free of charge and all we ask is that you bring your own set of hand trimmers so you can test your skills by practicing on our trees. We will meet in the lobby of our farm store and proceed to the orchard across the road from our store at exactly 10:30am. Please dress for cold and mud as both are a possibility in our orchards this time of year. We hope to welcome some newcomers to the workshop and to see some of you “veterans” again with new questions based on the year of experience you now have trimming your own trees. Tell your friends and neighbors about this opportunity, as this is the only way we advertise it. Bring your friends, wives, kids & anyone else that may not be interested in trimming too!
Our cafe will be open for a full breakfast & lunch menu, or to simply enjoy hot cider with an apple cider donut, or sip your coffee as you browse our craft & home decor area, newly decorated for spring! Kids can enjoy our “Corn Bin” play area. We try to have something for everyone to enjoy!
We currently still have apples, cider and local vegetables available at the store. Come on out and enjoy: Honey Crisp, Red Delicious(they’re back!), Golden Delicious, Jonagold (limited supply), McIntosh, Ida Red & Granny Smith.
