Bill Sharp on Ralph Borsodi at Ahimsa Village in Julian

Ahimsa Village Saturday Night Sustainability Series Program presents:

The Life of Ralph Borsodi: Unsung American Back-to-the-Land Pioneer

When: 7:00 p.m. Sat., Feb. 19, 2011

Where:  4022 S. Eagle Valley Rd, Julian, PA 16844

Many people are surprised to learn that many of the great decentralist leaders of the 20th century – Adele Davis, Paul Keane, Helen and Scott Nearing, J.I Rodale, to name a few – studied with and were inspired by the work of Ralph Borsodi, probably the greatest unsung hero of the “counterculture” movement of the last century. Writer and historian Bill Sharp will be discussing Borsodi’s life and work and its relevance to today.

Bill Sharp has been active in environmental and economic development issues for over 40 years. He has been a teacher, planner and manager in higher education, government and business. He has a life-long interest in community. He is currently working to develop an architecture for self-sufficient communities and is a local supporter of the Transition US and UK based Transition Towns network.
